The evolution of the Sram XX1 group is called Eagle. When you look at the details of the group, this name makes sense. While you often had to compromise with the 11-speed cassette with a 10-42 tooth range of the XX1 cassette, and the fastest or slowest gear was missing, with the 12-speed XX1 Eagle cassette and its enormous range of 10-52 teeth, you are free as an eagle. With the XX1 Eagle, Sram combines the benefits of 2 gears in front and 1 gear in the rear: a gear ratio of 500%, which is at the level of 2-speed groups with the more user-friendly and lighter 1-speed Drive.

With the proven SRAM X-Dome technology, the XG-1295 Eagle 12-speed cassette is one of the most durable and rigid cassettes on the market. SRAM achieves this by machining the cassette from a single block. This manufacturing technique also allows keeping the weight extremely low, even with durable steel gears. Only the 52 last gear is made of aluminum. Compared to the XX1 cassette, the individual gears are optimized for improved shifting performance and a better fit of the chain.
