The Shimano SLX FC-M7120 crankset is designed for direct mount chainrings. Their chain line of 55 millimeters has been optimized for Boost rear triangles. Matching direct mount chainrings from 30 to 34 teeth are available.
Shimano's SLX FC-M7120 12-speed crank produces a chainline of 55mm when ridden with a single chainring. This is 3 mm further out than with FC-M7100-1, which makes the crank is especially suitable for frames with 148 mm over locknut dimension. A direct-mount system is used, which significantly speeds up the process of changing the chainring. Combined with a single chainring featuring Shimano Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology (not included), good chain retention, efficiency and quietness are guaranteed. Hollow-forged crank arms reduce weight while providing the most efficient power transmission.
